Hello, I won an Element 32' LCD TV at a company event. Model FLX3220F. I've been trying to get this thing to work as a computer monitor for a few days with no luck.

It works in 720p mode at around 1200x700 res, but as you probably know that is not a very useful res for a 32' screen. It has a 1080i mode and I can get very nice pictures on it in around 1800x1200, but I get a very annoying flicker on horizontal bars and some fonts.

Is there anything I can do? I've tried a lot of settings and all tried Powerstrip to make some custom adjustments, but can not get it to work any better. The CC ad states that this TV is PC compatible and even lists a VGA port, but that must be a typo because there are no VGA ports on this TV. Oh almost forgot I'm running a Nividia GeForce 6200 vid card and it is supposed to be able to run in HDTV 2500x2000 or so res so I don't think the card is the problem though I'm no expert.

I am using a 32 inch LCD TV as a PC monitor. And I have NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS graphics card. But unfortunately the highest resolution offered in my display settings is 1360x768. Evan im using the element 19'cher as a pc (compaq w vista home basic-which may make a difference) monitor w pc rez set at 1280x720, seems ok to me, but im just a casual pc user and probably wouldnt know if it was an incorrect rez or not.

Oh, ok, i missed the vga part. I do have and am connected by the vga connector. Im surprised yours has no vga.???

But i dont know enuff to say whether its the ish or not. U can buy a 'vga to component video' breakout cable which might work.

Very sorry for not getting back to answer your question. Yes I'm very sure it has no PC connector even though every single listing I've found for it claims it has one. I'm sure because I'm an electronics tech as a full time job and since it was a free TV I disassembled the rear cover assy to make sure it didn't have any hidden things on the circuit boards. It has no PC type port like the other models. This really kinda stinks.

I get a prize and have no use for it at all since I don't even like watching TV that much. My computer is my hobby. Evan, I have been trying to dig up some information on this TV, as it's a great price and I'm considering purchasing it. What kind of luck have you had with it (if you've hooked it up to anything yet)?

While researching this TV a couple of days ago I read some posts on Circuit City's discussion forums (Element is their house brand), and the inclusion of a VGA port on this model is a typo (the other Element 32' does have one). I would like to hook this TV up to my Wii, N64, etc., and I'm curious as to how much input lag there is, because I have no HD sources. Do you have any comments on the general quality of the set?
